Comment: A Koala in the wild on Kangaroo Island. The Koala's only like about 5 of 100 species of Eucalyptus (a variety of gum tree). They eat about 4 hours per day (or night) and then sleep the rest of the day. They have to eat a lot because the nutritional value of the leaves is very low and they are the Koala's only source of water. When they are born the leaves are poisonous to the joeys, and only through eating the mother's fesces do they develop a tolerance for the leaves.
