Comment: And these were the signs you had to monitor to decide whether it was safe to continue. Many of the Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs had snorkels and we were convinced it was to safely transverse the "puddles" but we were told it was more likely to get the air intakes up above the thicker dust for driving in the outback.
