Comment: They have found that farming the Crocodiles helps prevent poaching. They have to collect the eggs from their nests by hand (yikes). The eggs are laid without a sex chromosome and the sex is determined by the temperature the eggs are incubated at, with temps between 31.5 and 32.5 resulting in Males. As a commercial venture, they want males because they grow about 30% larger over the same period of time, so there is more leather and meat for sale.
